Like the name very appropriately suggests, Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon crawler title set in the world of Minecraft — which gives the player a completely different experience than the one found in the original sandbox title; making it an interesting alternative for fans of the popular series.

Minecraft Dungeons was released in May of this year, and not a week after the game had launched Mojang Studios revealed that additional content would be added in the future via paid downloadable content.

As revealed by the developer, the very first DLC that they would be adding to the game came in the form of Minecraft Dungeons:Jungle Awakens, which is a new adventure that gives players three new missions to fight through, battle new mini bosses Leafleap and Whisperer, and obviously adds new armour, gear, and weapons.

It wasn't until a couple of days ago, however, that Mojang Studios revealed the official release date for this new expansion, and the good news is that players can now finally enjoy it, as Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens has become available today.

Now that Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens has become available for all platforms, Mojang Studios has released an action-packed gameply trailer in order to let everyone know what to expect from the game's first DLC — which, by the way, you can purchase from Minecraft's official website.

Unfortunately, Minecraft Dungeons: Jungle Awakens can only be obtained by purchasing the game's Hero Edition, as the developer has yet to confirm whether individual purchases for both "Jungle Awakens" and the second DLC will ever become available.

Have a look:

When a lonely, outcast Illager stumbles upon a mysterious object with terrifying powers, his entire existence is turned upside down. Before long, he finds himself on a path of evil, causing mayhem across the Overworld. Who can stop him?

Minecraft Dungeons is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC.
