MINECRAFT DUNGEONS Finally Gets Cross-Platform Multiplayer Play; Cloud Saving Also Announced

Mojang Studios has kindly reminded players that cross-platform multiplayer has just been added to the popular Minecraft Dungeons; cloud saving has also been announced.

Last week, Mojang Studios surprised fans of the Minecraft series by announcing that cross-platform multiplayer gameplay was being added to the popular Minecraft Dungeons, and that said update that included this new feature would be added at this week.

The good news is that the update was rolled out yesterday, and in a rather lengthy entry on the official Minecraft Help Centre, Mojang Studios reveals that players can now create their own multiplatform alliances with their friends; no matter whether they're playing on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox.

Mojang Studios mentions that Nintendo Switch and PlayStation accounts do need to be linked to a Microsoft account in order for cross-platform to work, and that they obviously need to download Version 1.6.0.0 before they attempt to play Minecraft Dungeons in multiplayer mode.

Interestingly enough, cross-platform on PlayStation can actually be disabled, Mojang Studios reveals, but the feature is always available on all of the other platforms. Those who would like to disable cross-platform on PlayStation can do so by going to Game Settings and deactivating it in Configure Online Play.

Mojang Studios has got even more good news for players, as the developer announces that cloud saving will be added to Minecraft Dungeons, which will allow players to save and synchronise their save data across multiple platforms. A release date for this feature has yet to be announced, though.

When a lonely, outcast Illager stumbles upon a mysterious object with terrifying powers, his entire existence is turned upside down. Before long, he finds himself on a path of evil, causing mayhem across the Overworld. Who can stop him?

Minecraft Dungeons is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC.
