Back in 2016, Remedy Entertainment dropped the studio's long-standing partnership with Microsoft to bring their games to market with a new publisher, which would mean that the dev that made Alan Wake and Quantum Break exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One respectively, would have a chance to release games on every major platform. The first project that will use this freedom is Project 7.
Project 7 is just a working title which will be changed soon, as 505 Games, the P7 publisher will attend E3 2018 officially showcasing Remedy's new game. No details beyond that just yet, aside from confirmation that P7 is slated for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We haven’t seen Remedy creating any PlayStation titles since 2001 and 2003, with Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
The game itself is due out in 2019, and press will apparently be given a “hands-off” look at the release in action at the big convention. Job listings and product descriptions from last year for P7 suggest it will keep the studio’s usual cinematic focus while incorporating PUBG and Destiny-like online elements. The studio is also working on a story-driven continuation of an Asian free-to-play hit, CrossFire.
