Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 & 2 is a game from the
Mega Man franchise, developed and published by Capcom, that compiles all 8 titles in the X series.
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 will include
Mega Man X to
Mega Man X4 titles, while
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 includes the remaining 4 games—concluding with
Mega Man X8.
Both
X Legacy Collection titles will include a brand new mode called X-Challenge that will have X fighting two Mavericks at the same time, living up to its name by actually offering veteran players quite a challenge to complete. We recently found out that there is yet another mode we haven't been introduced to, and that is Rookie Hunter.
Rookie Hunter Mode will make the games slightly easier by halving the damage X, Zero, and Axl take from enemies—making them more accessible for newcomers to the series. This new mode will also prevent insta-deaths caused by those dreaded spikes—so infamous in Mega Man games—as well as bottomless pits. For those of you wondering, the games will remained unchanged in terms of level design so spikes and bottomless pits will still be there, they just won't kill you—unlike
Mega Man 10's easy mode in which some things were added, like platforms to save you from spikes or pits.
Thanks to
4Gamer, via
Siliconera, we are also treated to a few pics from the games, more specifically
Mega Man X7 and
Mega Man X8, as well as some other character pics, the Goods Catalog that show some Mega Man X toys, and a pic from The Day of Sigma—a prologue 25-minute movie to the first
Mega Man X originally released with
Mega Man X Maverick Hunter on the PSP.
