MultiVersus is an upcoming crossover fighting game set to launch next year for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Developed by Warner Bros. Games, the game will feature characters from various Warner Bros. properties including Game of Thrones, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, DC Comics, and many more.

What has caught the attention of most is that Shaggy from Scooby-Doo will be a playable character but, not only that, he is based on the 'Ultra Instinct Shaggy' meme that circulated a couple years back and proposed that Shaggy is actually the most powerful character in the universe. The official description of the character reads as follows (via MultiVersus.com):

The last thing Shaggy remembers before The Change was exploring another spooky old mansion with his pal Scoob, just like any other day with the gang. He found a strange glowing crystal and, thinking it was rock candy, went to take a bite. There was a FLASH… and then blackness. When he came to, he found himself in possession of incredible powers. He doesn't know where they came from or how they work, but he's vowed to use them to vanquish evil and protect the little guy. As soon as he gets some lunch, that is.

That's not all that's exciting in regards to Shaggy, though. It has been officially announced (via @getFANDOM) that Matthew Lillard will reprise the role of Shaggy in the upcoming game.

He's best known for portraying the character in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies that came out in the early 2000s, however, Lillard has also intermittently played the voice of the character in animated outings since 2004. Fans were disappointed to find out Lillard wasn't the voice of Shaggy in recent animated movie Scoob! so this development should go down quite well.

MultiVersus is a new platform fighter that lets you team up with or against your friends as some of the world’s most iconic characters including Batman, Shaggy, Superman, Bugs Bunny, and more. Use unique co-op abilities, find your favorite fighter combos, and save the Multiverse!

MultiVersus will be coming in 2022 to the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
