Payday 2 released all the way back in 2013, which is a whole decade ago as of a few hours ago! The Payday games are tactical first-person shooters revolving around pulling off a variety of different heists alongside AI teammates or in teams of up to four players.
All the way back in 2019, Starbreeze Studios confirmed that Payday 3 was on the way with an estimated release window of 2022. As we all know, quite a lot has happened since then, namely a global pandemic which resulted in many projects being delayed. So, 2022 has been and gone without a new instalment in the safecracking series, but don't fret!
As the new year struck, OVERKILL Software released the first official trailer for Payday 3. This brief trailer provides us with our first look at the four playable characters, reveals a stylish new logo, and confirms that the game will be released at some point within the year of 2023. The description specifies that the game will be coming to both PC and consoles.
What's more, Payday 3 now has an official Steam page where players can add the game to their wishlists. The new Steam page features an official description of the game which goes as follows:
PAYDAY 3 is the much anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY-players have been reveling in the thrill of a perfectly planned and executed heist. That's what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal. Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law-enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew's reign of terror over Washington DC has ended, they assemble once again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement.
