PlatinumGames has collaborated with several publishers, such as Sega, Nintendo, Activision, Square Enix, Cygames or Konami. It is surprising that until now it has not worked with Capcom, considering that the team was founded by the Clover Studio.
According to Liam Robertson of DidYouKnowGaming, there were conversations to rescue two well-known Clover licenses: Okami and Viewtiful Joe.
Capcom and PlatinumGames held talks to resurrect these two sagas by the end of 2015. PlatinumGames founder Tatsumi Minami, discussed with Capcom the possibilities of working on these sequels.
However, it seems that after a promising start, problems with Platinum management and the cost of these games appeared. At that time, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite also suffered cost problems.
Shortly after the talks would break, but according to the rumor, Capcom still has good relations with Platinum and could resume collaboration in the future, especially after the relaunch of Okami HD on current platforms. Viewtiful Joe, for the time being, has not been remastered.
