Sega has finally revealed that the secret project they had been working on is none other than a
Team Sonic Racing game. Sega had initially teased the game by posting a very cryptic image/video on social media in which they revealed a shadowy logo with a very prominent red letter "R".
The tease wasn't really that cryptic since the logo somewhat resembled the logo from
Sonic & All-Stars Racing, and it's sequel
Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed, so fans had no troubleputting 2 and 2 together. The
Sonic & All-Stars Racing games were Sega's answer to the Mario Kart series, and they actually succeeded at that, giving players exciting tracks to drive, and fly through whilst racing as characters from popular Sega franchises.
While today's reveal was pretty much a tease, we can tell that
Team Sonic Racing seems to be taking a lot from the previous
All-Stars Racing games, and that is actually great news. Unlike Sonic Forces and other poor attempts at devlivering 3D Sonic games, Sonic racing games are widely considered to always be a hit and this is unlikely to be the exception.
Team Sonic Racing arrives this Winter! Race in a team with your friends (or against them) both offline and online, and choose from a variety of characters and tracks in the Sonic universe!
