Fans of the Need for Speed series believe that Electronic Arts and Criterion will be announcing a new title in the series, and that the announcement could be made a lot sooner than we may have anticipated. What's more, it seems like the developers are blatantly teasing the date in which the news will be share.
This information, as mentioned above, comes from the official Need for Speed Twitter account, where a series of images seem give us a look at a sports car being chased by a police car, which could suggest that Electronic Arts and Criterion are teasing a Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit title.
Even more interesting is the fact that the car's licence plate reads "510", and so does the billboard for Big Joe's Pizzeria. Could it be that the announcement of a new Need for Speed game will be made next Monday on the 5th of October(5/10)?
In June of this year, VentureBeat reported that a remaster of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was being developed by Electronic Arts and Criterion Games, but nothing was ever confirmed. In August, Eurogamer reported that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was listed on Amazon UK, but it was quickly removed.
According to Amazon UK's listing, the alleged Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster would launch on Friday the 13th of November, but neither Electronic Arts nor Criterion Games have confirmed this, and the fact that they are seemingly teasing something on social media makes the rumours of a remaster even more plausible.
We'll just have to patiently wait until Monday and see if Electronic Arts and Criterion Games officially announce the rumoured Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remaster.
