Roblox announced today an upgraded version of its Creator Fund program. The program is designed to offer funding and support to creators who want to develop innovative experiences on the platform. With this announcement comes the participant of two new participants to the program, including Neura Studios which has launched Clip It; a short-form video creation tool that allows all Roblox users to become creators. Another (and much more exciting to this author) participant is Paramount Game Studios, which is bringing the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise to the Roblox platform.

Clip it, with 71.5 million daily active users to date spending 2.4 hours daily on the platform, Roblox is always looking for ways to foster communication and connection. In this socially powered experience, Roblox users can make their own videos, featuring their avatars, and share them with their friends and the rest Roblox community in real-time.

Users can leverage custom avatars, chats, texts, images, sounds, and animations in their videos while choosing from a library of environments and animations to set the scene and express themselves during recording. Users can also like, comment, and share clips with friends using a built-in messaging system.

Paramount Game Studios revealed they are bringing a battleground-style experience to the Roblox platform this summer based on Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. This first official Avatar experience on the platform is developed by Looty Games, an established Roblox developer studio and veteran of the battlegrounds genre.

Bringing the fan-favorite, critically acclaimed animated series ‘bending’ abilities to the battlegrounds genre, fans can, for the first time, create their bender, master their element, and compete in the Avatarverse.

Within an arena environment that will be fast-paced, frenetic, and full of intense energy, bending takes the experience to the next level as users utilize water, earth, fire, and air moves rooted in traditional martial arts.

Historically, the Game Fund focused on funding experiences with innovative gameplay, ambitious visual designs, and creative ideas that are unlike anything else on the Roblox platform. Now, the newly dubbed Creator Fund will be expanding the types of content in the program and bringing new IP opportunities to creators, including Avatar: The Last Airbender. This means more entertainment partnerships for creators to be a part of while still staying true to the platform’s original mission of empowering creators who want to build something that has never existed before.

Today’s new releases come on the heels of several new Creator Fund releases, including Griefville: Survive the Nightmare!, which pays homage to horror film classics, offering an unparalleled experience for both long-time fans of the genre and newer audiences drawn to the thrill of survival games.

Quick Avatar Reminder... In case you forgot.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is a beloved animated series that aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008. Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the show is set in a world of magical people, known as "benders," who can manipulate the elements of water, earth, fire, and air.

The story follows Aang, the last surviving Airbender, and the Avatar, a figure destined to bring balance to the world. Accompanied by his friends Katara and Sokka, Aang works to master all four elements and defeat the  Fire Nation, led by Fire Lord Ozai, who seeks to conquer the world.
