Even with an incredibly controversial ending, the original Mass Effect trilogy was still viewed by many fans as being one of the best in video game history, and the franchise as a garnered the interest of gamers everywhere.

Unfortunately, after 2017's Mass Effect: Andromeda, received an overwhelmingly negative response from fans and critics alike, many became soured by the franchise and its developers at over at BioWare. These feelings would only grow stronger after BioWare released Anthem, which made many fans lose even more faith in the company's ability to return to its former glory.

Nevertheless, even with the increasingly negative view of BioWare and their games, director Casey Hudson, who helmed the first three Mass Effect titles, remains convinced that there is still a ton of potential in the franchise.

"We have so many ideas for things we want to do in Mass Effect, so much concept art that hasn't yet been brought to life, and so many stories yet to tell," Hudson wrote in a recent Twitter post, which was accompanied by some of the aforementioned concept art.

The director didn't offer any other details on what these "ideas" for the series are, but considering the current state of the fanbase, they will have to be incredibly exciting to spark the interest of some of the more disheartened fans.
