THE WITCHER III: WILD HUNT Developer Reveals That They Were Worried The Game Didn't Have Enough Content

Jakub Szamalek, Lead Writer of the critically acclaimed The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, has recently revealed that the developers at CD Projekt RED were actually worried that the game didn't have enough content.

Anybody who's got round to playing CD Projekt RED's critically acclaimed The Witcher III: Wild Hunt know how immense the game feels; from its huge open world to the almost endless amount of quests that players can go on.

With all the amount of content that The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is brimming with, one would think that the developers had more than enough ideas to keep adding to the game, but it turns out that they were actually somewhat worried that it may not have been enough.

In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Lead Writer of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Jakub Szamalek revealed that the team over at CD Projekt RED were worried that the game didn't feature as much content as they would have expected.

"We had a lot of tables and trees and diagrams and post-it notes to try and build the whole picture but it was extremely difficult. We were actually very worried that we didn't have enough content. We were seriously concerned there weren't enough quests, enough dialogue sequences, there wasn't enough to keep the player busy," explained Szalamek.

"Obviously we were hugely mistaken because the density of the experience is definitely not lacking - but it was so hard to assess it when the game was still being made."

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt's story can take up to 50 hours to complete, which is actually quite a long time in this day and age; this is without including the additional content that was added after the game's launch.

The fact that CD Projekt RED were concerned that the game would be lacking in the content department is further prove of their commitment to deliver the best game they could; and delivered they did.

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a story-driven open world RPG set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher, you play as professional monster hunter Geralt of Rivia tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
