Anthem will be available on February 22, both on PC and consoles. BioWare has already indicated that the downloadable story content of the game will be free but, in addition, has indicated that will be based on the model that Epic Games follows with Fortnite Battle Royale.
In this sense, during an interview with PC Gamer on the occasion of PAX West, the creators pointed out that they will be inspired by the seasonal events that Epic Games offers Fortnite users for their future plans.
“So we definitely are planning to do some seasonal content, bigger stuff. But then I think we need something more than that. I think what Fortnite, what Epic has done that others maybe haven’t figured out, is that they have seasons—big 10 week-long things—and then within that they’re like, we’re just going to sprinkle in something on top of that.
“What then you see is a lot of developers are missing is that second level of thing. They’ve got the season and they hit that cadence. ‘We do five things a year, six things a year.’ But they don’t have that extra little bit of spice, and that’s what Epic has figured out.”
In this sense, Michael Gamble, producer of the game, said they want to carry out this model "without players having to wait 5, 6, 3 or 4 months for a massive DLC." Gamble insists they are working in finding "a third layer" to strengthen the players with the Anthem content.
