The story of Anthem will be expanded for years, according to BioWare, the studio responsible for this game. Thus, the team plans to add more elements the story for years after the release of the title.
Mark Durrah of BioWare has explained that although they are putting a special emphasis on cooperative missions and the multiplayer collaboration experience, they are not going to set aside the story for a player. One of its objectives is to create an emotional bond between player and game.
"A great story for Bioware is really about characters you can have a connection with, choices you get to make, and feeling like the story is about you," explains Durrah.
"We’re able to combine that impact an agency of a single-player story, with the fun of teaming up with your friends to play co-op. we’ve designed Anthem in a way where we can actually add more story for years to come."
Therefore, it seems that the team is planning to go long term and update it after some time, although this will depend to a large extent on how the market reacts to its proposal. In the same way, we do not know what kind of additions to the story they are going to do, nor how they are going to be commercialized.
