According to the latest rumors,
Anthem won't be ready at launch as BioWare needs more time to optimize and finish the title, forcing EA to delay the promising title to March 2019. Executive Producer at BioWare Mark Darrah has decided to respond to those claims and explained on Twitter that nothing has changed yet regarding the release date and
Anthem will debut as planned on February 22, 2019.
Next February is packed with interesting titles, including
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Overkill's The Walking Dead (console version),
God Eater 3, Crackdown 3, Dead or Alive 6, Jump Force, and
DiRT Rally 2.0. The competition is strong, and
Anthem will compete directly with 4A Games'
Metro Exodus that is also set to release worldwide on the 22th of February for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Back in January, EA officially announced that
Anthem won't hit stores this year. From EA Blake Jorgensen's perspective, “
It’s not a delay,” as the company wants to give the developer more time to polish their first IP in years. As for now, every single BioWare studio is working on
Anthem, which is one of the most important projects in the studio's history after the
Mass Effect: Andromeda debacle.
In a world left unfinished by the gods, a shadowy faction threatens all of humankind. The only thing that stands between these villains and the ancient technology they covet are the Freelancers.
