Anthem is a huge risk for BioWare. Their latest attempt on an MMO, 2011's
Star Wars: The Old Republic, disappointed those who expected a proper spiritual successor to
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, as well as the players who wanted something similar to
World of Warcraft or
TERA. This time, BioWare will face even a bigger challenge, as their upcoming title will not only hit stores during an insanely crowded release window but also compete with
Destiny and
Tom Clancy's The Division.
At its core, BioWare's
Anthem is an online multiplayer action RPG that will give you an opportunity to control four different
Iron Man-like exosuits (called Javelins) and embark on a journey to discover why gods have abandoned the universe, in which only the bold few have the courage to leave the world they know behind, explore a vast landscape of primeval beauty, and finally confront ancient dangers.
IGN has released 15 minutes of an all-new
Anthem gameplay footage that puts the spotlight on the entire
Lost Arcanist story mission from start to finish with a three man team of the powerful Interceptor, Storm, and Colossus javelins. For unknown reasons, IGN still hasn't uploaded the video officially on YouTube, but you can take closer a look the high-quality MP4 video and
WATCH IT HERE.
#UPDATE - The YouTube version is finally available:
In a world left unfinished by the gods, a shadowy faction threatens all of humankind. The only thing that stands between these villains and the ancient technology they covet are the Freelancers. Join up to three other players and assemble high-tech, hand-crafted, uniquely powerful exosuits. Explore vast ruins, battle deadly enemies, and claim otherworldly artifacts. With every mission, you and your Javelin exosuits grow in power. Fight the dangers of an ever-changing world. Rise united to defeat evil. Triumph as one.
Anthem will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin) on February 22, 2019.
