As you may know, Michel Ancel, the creator of the Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil franchises, originally planned to make a trilogy around the characters of Jade and Pey'j, but the plans have changed and the upcoming game will serve as a prequel to Jade's adventures, as the developer wants to give players an opportunity to visit a No Man's Sky-like huge open-world and also learn its origins.
Shockingly, the E3 2018 cinematic trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2 ended with the arrival of Jade, but it wasn't the Jade we used to know, as her intentions toward the pirate crew seemed to be more than just hostile. According to producer Guillaume Brunier, the game is being made by more than 120 devs from four different Ubisoft studios located in Montpellier, Sofia, Barcelona, and Bordeaux.
