According to Director Michel Ancel, the world of Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be populated with colorful, varied, and incredibly interesting hybrids. In Ubisoft Montpellier's game, those hybrids are used by multinational conglomerates to do the "dirty" work as their slaves. While they can't reproduce due to genetic engineering, the hybrids are one big family, as they come from a common ancestor.

Ubisoft has released new details on the rarest mineral throughout all known planetary systems, Diwalite, a name derived from the Hindu festival of lights, Diwali. As written in the official description of this substance, it's a highly powerful, self-sustaining source of concentrated energy, that can be combined with other materials and programmed to generate complex structures and organisms.

Considering that Diwalite is such a versatile mineral, it’s no surprise that it's fundamental to most industries in System 3, BG&E2's playground. Here are some of the most prevalent uses for Diwalite:

Nanobots: "Diwalite can be “controlled” (programmed) by introducing code to direct it to perform a function or assemble itself into technologies and complex structures, much like how a snowflake forms or how DNA works in the human body."

Propulsion Engines: "Thanks to Indian scientists’ discovery of traces of Diwalite on Earth in the mid-21st century, humanity was able to develop a revolutionary engine for spaceships that allowed for the colonization of new planetary systems (such as System 3) centuries before BGE2 takes place."

Human & Hybrid Cloning: "To populate and construct these new colonies in far-away planetary systems, pre-programmed Diwalite was sent along with specific strains of DNA in order to create cloned humans and hybrids to begin the colonization process."

Given that the latest Space Monkey Report aired two months ago, Ubisoft should give us a closer look at the game's current build in the near future, or at their E3 2019 press conference, in the worst case.
