Many players have been anticipating a new trailer for CDP RED's highly-anticipated
Cyberpunk 2077 at Thursday's Game Awards 2018, but the Polish studio has some bad news for them, as
Cyberpunk 2077 won't be showcased at all during the upcoming celebration of gaming. While it might be a bummer, the good news is that CDP is working hard to show you the future of
Cyberpunk 2077 as soon as possible.
According to Polish website PPE, CDP RED Community Lead Marcin Momot has sent them an official note (translated into English), stating that CDP RED
"can't wait to see all the new teasers and reveals of this year's The Game Awards, but we won't be showcasing anything during the upcoming show. We will reveal more information on Cyberpunk 2077 when we're sure that we're ready."
While we will have to wait for quite some time to learn more about
Cyberpunk 2077, it's not really bad news, as CDP RED is one of the very few game companies that deserve our trust. As for TGA 2018, the fact that at least 10 brand new games (including some major reveals from Obsidian and BioWare) will be showcased during the main show, it's hard to not anticipate this year's last big event in gaming.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077's release date has not been officially revealed yet.
