It seems like with each passing day since the release of Cyberpunk 2077, a new headline or update is coming from players and the developers. While most of the news has worked against the game and other news pieces, has been about how other companies have reacted to the game's shortcomings. There are still some silver linings.
Most recently, the developers at CD Projekt Red have had to deal with their game being removed from the Playstation Store. Also, a lawsuit could potentially be taking place due to the misinformation that was sent over how much of the game was actually ready for launch. With a storm of information surrounding this game over the past few days, it looks like the dust isn't ready to settle just yet.
According to a report from the developers at CDPR, the new release has sold a total of 13 million copies so far, despite the lackluster release it had dealt with. While this wouldn't be the first time the developers have made claims of the game's success that may or may not be true, it's still important to note. While we may not know if the game is truly doing well or worse yet, things are certainly a lot more complicated than the surface would lead us to believe.
Have you picked the game up? Will you be getting it when it releases on next-gen titles? We would love to hear your thoughts on the game in the comments below!
The game follows the story of V — a hired gun on the rise in Night City, the most violent and dangerous metropolis of the corporate-ruled future. A robust character creator will allow players to choose V's gender, visual appearance, as well as historical background — all of which may influence the shape of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC!
