Just yesterday, fans of the cyberpunk genre were left somewhat disappointed by the news that CD Projekt RED had decided to push back the ridiculously highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077; initially scheduled to launch in September of this year, and now expected to become available on the 19th of November.
CD Projekt RED did reveal that the game was totally playable, but that just isn't good enough for them — since the developers have made it their goal to give players the best experience possible, and for that they need more time to deliver the top quality product they know they can deliver.
While the news about Cyberpunk 2077's delay was rather sour, today CD Projekt RED has some great news for players who have been anticipating the release, as it has been revealed that the long-awaited title will be backwards compatible with both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The good news don't end there, as CD Projekt RED has also revealed that physical copies of the game on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be playable on their respective next-gen counterparts on the same day these finally become available.
On top of this, the developer also announces that a later update for Cyberpunk 2077 will be made available; one that will be taking full advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. As if that wasn't enough, this update will be completely free of chrge for owners of the game. All in all, great news.
