Cyberpunk 2077 is a highly anticipated first-person shoother that's in development at CD Projekt Red (and has been for quite some time). Back at E3 2019, the developer finally revealed a release date for the upcoming title — that being April 16th, 2020. They also revealed that Keanu Reeves would feature prominently in the game but that's beside the point — though, still breathtaking.

In a set of recent financial documents written up for investors, which you can check out here, CD Projekt Red reveals that Cyberpunk 2077 is approaching gold status. The developer mentions that the role-playing game has entered the "final, most intensive pre-release stage" of production — as reasoning for increased expenditure in Q3 2019.

This all is to say that Cyberpunk 2077 is almost done. Seven years after the game was first announced. As for what the final stage of development is and how long it will last, CD Projekt Red references "localisation efforts and soundtrack recordings," which not much can be ascertained from. Regardless, it's good to hear the Cyberpunk 2077 is on the verge of completion.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to release on April 16th, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
