We have some news that may upset a few players out there, as CD Projekt RED has made an official announcement about the upcoming
Cyberpunk 2077; revealing that the game will not be meeting its initial release date, which would have seen the game releasing in April of this year.
As per the announcement,
Cyberpunk 2077 will now be releasing on the
17th of September, pushing back the release for a whole 5 months. According to CD Projekt RED's Marcin Iwiński and Adam Badowski, the developers are "
currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there's still work to be done," adding that they still need more time to playtest the game, as well as polishing some details.
"
We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect," announced CD Projekt RED earlier today.
While this may be some disappointing news, the fact that they're compelled to deliver a top-quality game is more than commendable, and fans will probably be more than understanding about the delay.
