CYBERPUNK 2077 Quest Designer Reveals That NPCs Will React To Your Character's Appearance & Clothing Choices
The Quest Designer for CD Projekt Red's highly anticipated title Cyberpunk 2077 recently revealed that the inhabitants of Night City will react to your character's appearance and clothing. Find out more...
CD Projekt Red recently revealed, during an interview with DualShockers, that the NPCs and world of Cyberpunk 2077 will react to how you customise your character - both looks and clothing. This concept is one we've seen before, in games such as Daggerfall and Alpha Protocol, however seemingly not to this extent.
Quest Designer Patrick Mills first explained that one of the highly antipated title's major themes will centre around objectification: "This is a world where the system and the powers that be have objectified people and literally turned them into objects. Many times people turn themselves into objects in order sometimes to rebel or sometimes to fit in. Certainly, objectification would be a major theme."
On that topic, Mills that prostitues will be roaming around Night City, but at this point in development, he's unsure whether the player will be able to "interface" with them - as you would in the Grand Theft Auto games.
Mills went onto reveal that one of CD Projekt Red's ambitions for Cyberpunk is for your character customisation to be more meaningful - thereby having the inhabitants of Night City react based on your appearance: “The way you dress, the way you customize your character, we want the world to respond to these things.”
Just how extensive this reactive world will be remains to be seen, though the prospect alone is quite enthralling. What do you think of the idea? Are you excited for Cyberpunk 2077?
Cyberpunk 2077 is in development for PC, PS4, Xbox One. An official release date is yet to be revealed.
