Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay that was shown behind closed doors at E3 2018 suggests that the game is unlike anything CD Projekt has done before. According to the press, Cyberpunk 2077 builds on the deep character interactions and storytelling the Polish studio put on display with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and CDP confirmed that freedom is the key word when it comes to describing the upcoming title.
It seems that all you need to do to get some new information about Cyberpunk 2077 is talk to the devs. Recently asked about the game's stealth mechanics on Facebook, CD Projekt answered that: "Enemies won’t always be aware of the player. The player can utilize this to their advantage by sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies, laying various traps or deploying viruses. The plan of attack is just as important as executing it. We never force players to adopt any particular style of combat, so they’re always free to use what they think is the best possible solution at a given time. From shooting through walls, to bending bullets over corners – stealth tactics are also a part of your repertoire."
It's great to hear that enemies won’t always be aware of us, so we will have a chance to take advantage of unsuspecting foes or sneak behind their backs just like in Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the Thief reboot. Cyberpunk 2077 will also include one of the best gameplay features of Starbreeze's Syndicate, as we will be able to shoot through walls and bend bullets around corners among other deadly options.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077's release date doesn't exist yet.
