CYBERPUNK 2077 Writer Reveals Some New Details On The Different Districts In The Game
While the title has no set release date, CD Projekt Red continues to reveal new details on Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, the game's writer recently revealed some new details on the different districts in Night City.
CD Projekt Red recently shared new details on Pacifica, one of the six main districts in Cyberpunk 2077, and now one of the developers behind the title has shed some more light on a few of the other districts in Night City.
During a chat with PC Gamer, writer Stanislaw Swiecicki revealed that one of the primary influences on the design of Night City is California, explaining that they incorporated various elements of the state into the city's visual aesthetic and the different cultures present throughout the game.
“We want to give Night City a Californian feel,” Swiecicki said. “It’s not just another abstract dystopia. I visited LA for the first time this year and it was very inspiring, especially walking along Venice Beach. We want to bring some of that vibe to the game. The sun, the palm trees, but a darker side, too. It’s an incredibly diverse place, with all these different people, fashions and cultures sharing the same space, but it can also be dangerous.”
Aside from explaining the impact of California on the design of Night City, the writer also revealed some key details on a few of the different districts players will explore in Cyberpunk 2077.
“Watson is a multicultural district with a strong Asian influence and a rising crime problem. But there are other districts too, each with their own unique feel. Westbrook is where the middle classes live; Heywood was once home to the tech giants, but abandoned and left to rot; and Pacifica is a suburban district ruled by gangs, and the most dangerous place in the city. Wherever you are in the city, there’s a layer of darkness.”
While this isn't a highly detailed description of these four districts, it does give us a good idea of what makes them each unique. Plus, when combined with recent comments about the size of the game's map, this statement further suggests that Night City will be a large and rich location for players to explore.
Cyberpunk 2077 currently has no set release date and comes from the same developer behind the acclaimed The Witcher series
