CD Projekt Red, the studio behind The Witcher trilogy, has been silent since revealing Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012 and releasing a trailer a year later and then went underground, leaving sci-fi, Blade Runner, the universe created by Mike Pondsmith, and RPG fans in the dark for five long years. Cyberpunk 2077 officially retuned on Monday, and what a return it was, showing off the gameplay for the first time.
Cyberpunk 2077 is already the most viewed trailer of E3 2018 reaching 11 million views on YouTube alone and one of the candidates for the best of E3 2018 title. This year's E3 attendees had a chance to see a 50-minute behind-closed-doors demo of Cyberpunk 2077 and it turns out the game is a first-person shooter with heavy RPG elements which is more similar to Deus Ex than The Witcher 3.
The shown gameplay indicates Cyberpunk 2077 is unlike anything CD Projekt has ever done and clearly builds on the deep character interactions and storytelling the studio put on display with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Be sure to check out 22 new 4K Cyberpunk 2077 screenshots down below:
