CD Projekt Red was founded sixteen years ago and the studio is best known for the creation of one of the best role-playing games in the history,
The Witcher trilogy. The Polish team's body of work would suggest that
Cyberpunk 2077 (which was announced in 2012) is an RPG, but according to website Gry Online, CDP Red will try something a bit different this time, developing a first-person shooter.
But you should not expect to see Red's version of
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as the game is apparently filled with RPG mechanics and themes you've seen (and presumably loved) in the
Prey and
Deus Ex series. Gry Online also reports that
Cyberpunk 2077 is being made by two CDP units, one located in Warsaw, and the other in Cracow. The newly-formed studio is working on something special.
It sounds totally strange, but there's a chance that CDP Red Kraków is working on a chapter of the game that will let us visit the Moon. That's not all, as the game will borrow some gameplay elements from
Titanfall, allowing players to use jet packs to run along flat vertical surfaces while you are off the ground. CDP Red has no comment on whether these out of this world revelations are true or not.
The rumor says that CD Projekt RED is currently working hard on Cyberpunk 2077's demo that will be shown at E3's floor in Los Angeles. Until then, remember to take these leaks with a grain of salt. Beep.
