Back in January,
we reported that Sebastian Stepien, who was one of a trio of creative directors on 2015's
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, has left CDP Red and the
Cyberpunk 2077 team to work for Blizzard.
It looks like the Warsaw-based gaming company has already managed to find his replacement, as Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who was also developing
The Witcher III as a creative director, has all but officially joined the
Cyberpunk 2077 crew. Given that Stepien is no longer attached to
Cyberpunk 2077, there's a rather big chance that Tomaszkiewicz may be filling the abandoned roles, working as a vice president of game development and design director for
Cyberpunk 2077, according to PC Gamer.
While it's still unclear if
Cyberpunk 2077 is a current or next-gen game, we should learn more about the action-RPG during this year's E3, as CDP Red has already confirmed that the will be showcasing their latest project during the expo. E3 2019 will be held June 11-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend. Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077's release date has not been officially revealed yet.
