The
Dark Souls series is one of the most beloved franchises of the last decade. Publisher Bandai Namco seems to understand it, bringing the first
Dark Souls into this generation of more powerful consoles, and of course, PC.
Dark Souls Remastered for Switch was announced during the January 2018 Nintendo Direct and was due on the same date as the other versions, but has been delayed to the summer.
The publisher hasn't confirmed a new release date for Switch, so there's a small chance that users who play only on Switch will have to wait several months to purchase the remaster. It’s not clear why the Switch version was pushed back as the last version of the game was recently shown in hands-on form at PAX East earlier and there were no noticeable issues basing on the raw gameplay footage.
Dark Souls Remastered is receiving an universal praise from critics, currently sitting at an incredible 86% on Metacritic with 23 reviews. What's noticeable, the "normal" players don't agree with this verdict as PC users have to deal with cheaters and getting legitimate players banned from online through invasions.
Remastered apparently runs much better than the original on PC, so there's hope that Namco will fix the broken Anti Cheat System in a free patch.
