Spanish site Nextn [via VG247], a remake of the original Darksiders game is in the works at Nordic Games.  After securing rights from the now disband THQ Games, Nordic has already produced a remake of Darksiders 2 so a remake of the first game would certainly be within reason.  According to Nextn, the developer announced the remake at Gamepolis 2016 which was held this past weekend in  Andalusia, Spain.

The remake is reportedly being made for the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and WiiU and will be released this October.  The site also added that more details are expected to be released next month at Gamescom in Germany.  Of course, fans of the series are hoping that sales of the remake(s) are strong enough to convince Nordic to proceed with Darksiders 3 and finally complete the story.  THQ shuttered its doors before their best-selling title could reach its culmination.
