Earlier this year, the veriefied Blizzard Entertainment Twitter account shared a post that showed a Diablo-themed bightlight being switched on and off. This led to a lot of people thinking this was Blizzard's way of teasing a Diablo game for the Nintendo Switch, although the developer was quick to deny this assumption.
It wasn't until August of this year that we
finally had confirmation that Blizzard was indeed bringing the Diablo series to Nintendo's handheld hybrid console in the form of
Diablo III: Eternal Collection; thus finally ending all speculation that had been building up since that tweet in March.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch features all of the DLC released for the game thus far, which includes the
Reaper of Souls and
Rise of Necromancer expansions. As a Nintendo console exclusive, players will also have access to a new armour set based on Ganondorf from Nintendo's
The Legend of Zelda series. Players will also be able to play with their friends in four-player co-op and online multiplayer.
As if getting
Diablo III on the Switch wasn't enough, Nintendo and Blizzard have teamed up to bring us a fantastic
Diablo III: Eternal Collection Limited Edition Nintendo Switch console, which includes a digital code with the game(that is also including both of the aforementioned expansions, as well as the Ganondorf armour set), a Diablo-themed carrying case for the console, and the Diablo-themed Nintendo Switch console, obviously.
As the game becomes available today, Nintendo has released a new trailer for Blizzard Entertainment's
Diablo III: Eternal Collection. Please take a look:
Stand tall among Sanctuary’s meek and wicked to battle walking corpses, horrifying cultists, fallen seraphs, and the Lords of Hell. When the High Heavens and the Burning Hells war, humanity must be its own salvation.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection is available for the Nintendo Switch today.
