Yesterday, we reported that
Diablo III was going to be announced today for the Nintendo Switch. The news came from
Kotaku, who reported that Forbes had accidentally posted the article online one day before the embargo was supposed to be lifted.
The article on Forbes' site was deleted almost immediately but that didn't stop other media outlets from sharing the information about the game. We found out that
Diablo III for the Nintendo Switch would be including the
Reaper of Souls and
Rise of Necromancer expansions, plus a new
The Legend of Zelda themed armour set that will make the character look like Ganondorf.
We also found out that the game will be able to be played in co-op mode with up to 4 Nintendo Switch consoles. Online co-op was also mentioned, as well as 2-player co-op using one console—taking full advantage of the Nintendo Switch's portability features.
Today, we finally get an official announcement from Nintendo, who has shared the
Diablo III: Eternal Collection trailer. As per the trailer, we see Nintendo of America COO Reggie Fils-Aime getting contacted by Blizzard Entertainment CEO Mike Morhaime—making the whole
Diablo III deal official. We also get to see some of the previously mentioned features that
Diablo III: Eternal Collection will include. We didn't get an official release date but we have confirmation that the game will release
this 2018.
Check it out:
Stand tall among Sanctuary’s meek and wicked to battle walking corpses, horrifying cultists, fallen seraphs, and the Lords of Hell. When the High Heavens and the Burning Hells war, humanity must be its own salvation.
