Carrie Fisher recently passed away at age 60 following a sudden heart attack, but it has now been revealed that she once lent her voice to Dishonored. Apparently, she recorded several lines for Arkane Studios, but her work isn't as prominently featured there as it is in animated series Family Guy.
In order to hear her work, you need to take down a specific propaganda officer during the "Return to the Tower" mission. Then, a little later in the game, a voice will come over the game's public address system in Dunwall which belongs to Fisher. That says not to "interfere with the regular transfer of deceased persons to disposal centres in the Flooded District" and that "any disturbance in the region of Dunwall Tower this evening has been the result of a previously scheduled training exercise."
What led to the Star Wars actress joining Dishonored isn't clear, but the game's creative director, Harvey Smith, paid tribute to Fisher on Twitter saying that, despite her small role, she was "gracious, funny and creatively open." Interestingly, this is her only video game role aside from this year's LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fisher's passing is being mourned by fans the world over, and something like this being discovered is yet another way for th actress to be, well, honoured.
