Bethesda has officially confirmed that Fallout 76 will once again tie into Amazon’s Fallout TV series, this time aligning with the upcoming second season of the hit show. While full details remain under wraps, fans can expect new crossover content to coincide with the next chapter of the show set in New Vegas.
Crossover Content Confirmed by Fallout 76’s Creative Director
In an interview with Variety, Fallout 76 Creative Director Jon Rush confirmed that more crossover content is in development. Rush emphasized ongoing communication between the development team and the Fallout TV show’s production crew.
This follows a successful rollout of themed content in 2024, when Bethesda celebrated the premiere of Fallout Season 1 with the Vault 33 Survival Kit in Fallout 76, which included:
- Lucy’s Vault 33 Backpack
- Consumables like Lunchboxes, Repair Kits, and Perk Card Packs
The modest nature of that content gives fans a good sense of what to expect for the next round of crossover items likely cosmetic and utility-based rewards rather than full-blown quests and pieces of land to discover.
While the collaboration is confirmed, don’t expect a major storyline integration between Fallout 76 and the TV show. There’s a huge chronological gap between the two: Fallout 76 is set in 2102, while the Amazon series takes place in 2296 nearly 200 years later after the fact. This timeline divide makes lore-consistent crossovers extremely difficult to pull off.
Rush acknowledged this constraint but added that thematic or referential nods could still work within the game’s framework: "It’s stuff that we talk about all the time... we do have plans."
So while major narrative missions tied to characters like Lucy or The Ghoul may not be in the cards, players could see Easter eggs, gear, or collectibles inspired by Season 2’s New Vegas setting.
Amazon is currently targeting a December 2025 premiere window for Fallout Season 2. Based on Bethesda’s past release strategy, the new crossover content will likely arrive late into Fallout 76 Season 22 (Appalachian Modern Living) or more plausibly as part of Season 23.
As of now, Bethesda has not revealed the theme of Season 23, but it could potentially lean into aesthetics or references drawn from the Mojave Wasteland and the themes of the new season.
Fallout Franchise On Fire (In A Good Way)
The Fallout TV series has reignited interest across the entire game franchise. Since its debut in April 2024, Fallout 76, Fallout 4, and even older titles have seen spikes in player activity. The synergy between the series and Bethesda’s games has been instrumental in revitalizing the brand and this upcoming crossover looks to keep that momentum going.
