Mass Effect 2 Getting More DLC For 2011

BioWare isn't ready to leave Mass Effect 2 universe behind quite yet

According to the Cerberus Daily News, Mass Effect 2's in-game daily news service, Mass Effect 2 will receive fresh DLC in 2011.

Layer of the Shadow Broker, the most recent Mass Effect 2 downloadable content (DLC), was the warmly received and was released early last September. Layer of the Shadow Broker saw Commander Shepard teaming up with the blue-hued Liara and taking the fight to the elusive Shadow Broker.

The Cerberus Daily News also included the following intelligence, stating that daily updates will cease as of January 24.

"The Cerberus Daily News will begin a hiatus on January 24th, finishing its run of one full year. Daily postings will cease except for three weeks in 2011. A week of posts will precede a downloadable content release, and two more weeks will lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3."

Mass Effect 2 for the PlayStation 3, which uses the Mass Effect 3 game engine and contains several previously released Mass Effect 2 DLC packs, is due to hit US retailers January 18 and Europe on January 21.

Mass Effect 3 is set to launch simultaneously on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC during holiday 2011.
