It's been awhile, but there were rumors that the Mass Effect Andromeda game would be an open world game, but those rumors have now been laid to rest. In a recent interview with the Official Xbox Magazine, producer Michael Gamble has this to say about the game being "Open World."

"I definitely wouldn't call Andromeda an open-world game, we like to use the term 'exploration-based game.' You still have the concept of tight story deliverance and all the great things you come to expect with Mass Effect."

While there may be an open world aspect to the game, we fully anticipate the game to follow the mold of its predicessors.
