Three new casting additions have been confirmed for The Witcher Season 4.

Sharlto Copley, James Purefoy, and Danny Woodburn will be joining the upcoming season, which will be the first without Henry Cavill in the lead role of Geralt of Rivia.

Though it was never really explained, it seemed Cavill departed the role over creative differences. Netflix wished to continue on with the show and has cast Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia.

Returning for the fourth season are Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Ciri, and Joey Batey as Jaskier, the traveling bard. Laurence Fishburne was the first big casting addition for the new season announced (if you don't count Hemsworth). He'll be playing Regis, a character from the Witcher novels.

Variety has gone on to report that Copley will be portraying the bounty hunter, Leo Bonhart while play the Nilfgaard spy, Skellen. Woodburn will be portraying the Zoltan, a fan-favorite dwarf from the CD Projekt Red games.

Filming is expected to get underway this Spring.

Ahead of the release of The Witcher season 4, there's a spinoff that needs to be released, titled The Rats. Filming for that show recently wrapped back in July. Dolph Lundgren stars in this spinoff as a Witcher named Brehen.

It should be noted that Redanian Intelligence first clocked Copley's casting as Bronhart back in July. The site reported that Copley's villain would first appear in The Rats before menacing Geralt in The Witcher season 4.

Bronhart is described as an assassin who's obsessed with witchers and kills them to collect the medallions that identify what witcher school they attended.

Stay tuned for future updates on The Witcher season 4 and The Rats. Netflix has been eerily quiet on the franchise since Cavill's departure so it's been previously confirmed that the show has already been confirmed for a fifth season, which will be filmed back-to-back with season 4.
