In the shadow of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, yet another Polish game development studio tried their luck with the highly competitive RPG genre, created by Reality Pump and published by TopWare Interactive 2011's Two Worlds II. While the title is not remembered as one of the best reviewed games of that year (explicitly when it comes to its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 ports), the studio has been supporting TWII with free updates and paid content, like the Call of the Tenebrae DLC, since its launch.
TopWare officially announced that Two Worlds III is in the works back in March 2016, but we haven’t heard anything new regarding the project ever since. The Wccftech crew has decided to change that and recently asked the company about the current status of the threequel. According to the publisher representative who replied, Two Worlds III has not been canned and is in the pre-production phase.
While the official confirmation that the RPG game is still in active development is definitely good news, the bad one is that TWIII definitely won’t be released for another four to five years, in all likelihood.
Considering that Realty Pump is still working on the single-player DLC for TWII Shattered Embrace, there's a big chance that the studio won't be fully committed to the development of TWIII until after the DLC, that has not been dated or detailed, is released. Reality’s last all-new game, 2016's Raven's Cry, was panned by critics, and considered one of the worst video games of that respective year.
