Salt & Sanctuary is an action role-playing game developed  and published by Ska Studios that released for the PlayStation 4 in May of 2015; later being ported to Steam and PS Vita. The game was also announced for the Nintendo Switch last week and it has officially become available today.

In Salt & Sanctuary, players follow the story of a sailor who has shipwrecked on an uncharted island in a world inspired by the Castlevania and Dark Souls series—where exploration and combat are the main focus of the adventure. Featuring 2D hand drawn graphics, Salt & Sanctuary offers players an immersive experience with beautiful scenarios.

Much like the Souls series it was inspired by, Salt & Sanctuary will have players fighting tough enemies in order to survive. Players can also upgrade over 600 weapons, armor pieces, spells, and find items that will help them take on these enemies with a bit more ease—albeit it won't be easy.

Check it out:

Salt and Sanctuary seamlessly combines fast, brutal, and complex 2D combat with richly developed RPG mechanics.

Salt & Sanctuary is available for the Nintendo Switch right now.
