In October, Ubisoft revealed that
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege has managed to break the 40 million registered player mark, making the team-based FPS as big as Blizzard's
Overwatch. Today, Ubisoft announced that over 45 million unique players have joined the
Siege fun since its debut in 2015.
To celebrate that another major milestone, Ubisoft has released an all-new trailer that showcases
Siege's evolution and steadily increasing number of players. "
Thank you to our millions of fans: for spending your time with us, helping us continually improve, and for sharing your stories along the way," Ubisoft said. Given that the game's launch was far from being "
successful," Ubisoft has many reasons to be thankful for its fanbase that is still supporting this four-year-old first-person shooter.
The next major step in
Siege's evolution, titled
Operation Burnt Horizon, will be fully revealed during the Six Invitational finals, on February 17, 2019. Thanks to
Burnt Horizon, players will have a chance to check out two new Operators from Australia: Defender Mozzie and Attacker Gridlock on the game's 21st map:
Outback. In the meantime, be sure to take a look at the "celebration" video down below:
The Siege is a brand-new style of gameplay embracing the reality of counter-terrorist operatives across the world: intense and asymmetrical close-quarters combat between attackers and defenders. As a defender, you will have the means to transform your environment into strongholds to prevent the attackers from breaching. As an attacker, you will have many planning options to face this challenge and defuse these situations.
