Better buckle up right now, as Wedbush Securities' analyst Michael Pachter takes no prisoners in his latest prediction for 2019. While some of them are not that far-fetched (like his prediction that Rockstar Games will reveal a new game and 2K Games will officially announce a
Bioshock 4 [reportedly being developed at Hangar 13), the ones listed below will surely make your day at least a bit better.
According to Pachter, Ubisoft will release four new video games this year, including the already announced
Skull & Bones, rumored new
Splinter Cell and
Watch Dogs, and a
Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Siege sequel. Yes, it seems that Pachter doesn’t know that
The Division 2 releases in March or that
Siege is one of the most successful fruits of the Games-as-a-Service approach with over 40 million registered players and Ubisoft's planning to add 100 operators over 10 years (
Siege released in 2015).
His other prediction is even more absurd (and that's something), as the analyst thinks "
Elder Scrolls VI is coming in 2019. The flop of Fallout 76 makes a hit more essential for Bethesda, and I expect them to accelerate development of ESVI. (This was my prediction from 2016 and 2017...)" Nuff said.
The Siege is a brand-new style of gameplay embracing the reality of counter-terrorist operatives across the world: intense and asymmetrical close-quarters combat between attackers and defenders. As a defender, you will have the means to transform your environment into strongholds to prevent the attackers from breaching. As an attacker, you will have many planning options to face this challenge and defuse these situations.
