The First Wave Of Reviews For WARHAMMER: VERMINTIDE 2 Points To It Being One Of The Best Sequels In Years

According to the critics who have already reviewed Warhammer: Vermintide 2, developer Fatshark did manage to craft a sequel that keeps the good elements from the first game and fixes most of its issues...

The critics are slowly starting to reveal their thoughts on the newest game set in the Warhammer universe and it looks like Fathsark's Vermintide II will be remembered as one of the best video games of the beloved franchise. The game is currently available only for PC, but the developer is working hard on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version. Let's see what the first wave of reviews says about the sequel.

Most of them seem to greatly enjoy the brutal FPS Warhammer experience and even some of them compare the game's systems to Valve's Left 4 Dead with its fast pacing, satisfying fighting system and great feeling of being in total control of protagonist's actions. Sadly, there are some forced microtransactions, even compared to Battlefront II's and primitive multiplayer modes. Take a look:

We Got This Covered - 90/100
Vermintide 2 delights in its violence, a state of constant balance that makes the player feel overwhelmed but in control. With a myriad of classes to choose from and an excellent variety of loot, it shines in ways that have yet to be explored by others in the genre.

Gamereactor - 90/100
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is an improvement on its predecessor in virtually every single way. We see more of the characters we love, more depth in terms of their abilities and skills, more loot, lots of new enemies and bosses, and last but not least a new home base. The End Times (as we'll call it from now on) may have been a great replacement for the Left 4 Dead series, but this sequel really feels like the next step in the development of this wonderful concept.

PC Gamer - 80/100
Vermintide 2's combat and level design are so feverishly fun that I'll put up with its bad matchmaking and RPG progression if it means chopping more ratmen in half.

Metro GameCentral - 70
Even without microtransactions, loot boxes manage to spoil another potentially classic game, although the core combat and co-op atmosphere still shine through.

From the developers of the award-winning Vermintide comes Vermintide 2, a visually stunning and action-intense first person co-op game pushing the boundaries of the genre. You and your allies are the only force standing against the onslaught of the mighty warriors of Chaos and the hordes of Skaven. If you fall, so shall the Empire.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available on PC NOW!
