Frogwares, the studio responsible for all those adventure games with Sherlock Holmes in the main role, it working currently on The Sinking City, a detective game set in an open world area, strongly inspired by the novels of H.P. Lovecraft. You will play as a privative detective who's trying to solve the mystery of never stopping floods that drive the citizens of Oakmont Massachusetts, New England crazy.

The game is definitely a treat for the fans of sadly forgotten Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. If you're interested, you can watch the first developer diary down below that gives us a chance to see a rather long demo. A more advanced gameplay will be shown at GDC 2018 in San Francisco (March 19-23). The Sinking City is set for a release sometime this year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Sinking City is a game of investigation and mystery taking place in a fictional open world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The player steps into the shoes of a 1920s private investigator who finds himself in the city of Oakmont Massachusetts, New England. A city suffering from unprecedented floods of clearly supernatural origins, a city trembling on the brink of madness.
