Ubisoft has once again emphasized its support for streaming services. While a few months ago the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, said that PS5 and Xbox Two will be the last traditional consoles, today he has insisted on his thought: the experience of streaming games will overcome the traditional console model.

In Gamescom 2018, Guillemot granted an interview to IGN to talk about the future of the industry and the arrival of these services.

"Technology is moving in that direction," explains Guillemot. “Technology is actually going in that direction. The machines will be more powerful and the system to transfer data will be more efficient, so at one point, we will have a better experience streaming something than having to buy a machine and change the machine regularly."

In addition, Guillemot claims to be attracted by the variety this new model would offer. “What I'd like is the diversity of models. I don't like one specific way to participate. I’d like to keep different types of approaches so that anyone can play with each other.”

On the other hand, Guillemot has also talked about an important feature to be included in future titles: the creation of the game based on the community, something that Ubisoft has launched with Beyond Good & Evil 2, in collaboration with HitRecord.

“We feel it's very important to bring the community into the creation of the game so they really feel more at home when they play. It's so interesting to see what many players can do together and what they can build.”
