Things are not looking good for developers who normally take advantage of what Unity has to offer. If you are a developer who pays a subscription to Unity, then expect to pay more come January of next year, as prices are set to increase.
Here’s the thing, Unity Pro licenses are set to go up by 20 percent from the current cost of $125 to $150 per month. In terms of the Unity Plus plan, the cost will go up by 14 percent, which means, developers are required to pay $40 up from $35.
Now, if your revenue is below $100,000 annually, then Unity Personal is still free to use, which is great.
"The price has remained the same for over three years and we are making these increases in order to continue investing in new technology, features, and services that will benefit all Unity creators," according to the company in a statement.
We doubt developers will abandon the Unity ship because there aren’t many options out there that compete with this toolset where affordability is concerned.
