Unlike DARK SOULS, SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE Features No Multiplayer Or Actual Souls

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is From Software's next big thing, and it sounds like it's a straightforward action-RPG without the character creator, multiplayer mode, armor and weapons, or even collecting souls...

FromSoftware’s next big thing is elegantly called Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the developer is quite shockingly working with Activision to bring the game out. Sekiro will take place in feudal Japan and will follow the developer's usual style of intense combat action and difficulty, adding some gameplay mechanics and aesthetics of two beloved and critically acclaimed franchises - Dark Souls and Nioh.

Sekiro will feature a lot of changes to the old formula. There's will be no professions or classes to choose from, you should also forget about leveling up the protagonist's stats. In the Shadows Die Twice you're the only hero and brining your friends to the party is not an option. The Dark Souls trademark, collecting souls after dying has been also scrapped. The game won't feature weapons to equip either.

Shadows Die Twice is helmed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Bloodborne and Dark Souls III. Sekiro is a third-person, action-adventure single-player only game will puts players in the role of a hard-hearted warrior whose mission is to rescue his master, a young lord, and exact revenge on his arch nemesis. According to FromSoftware, more details will be released in the coming months.

In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice you are the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior rescued from the brink of death. Bound to protect a young lord who is the descendant of an ancient bloodline, you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.
