Upcoming WARFRAME Update Will Add Yet Another Massive Open-World & Allow Players To Engage In Space Combat
At TennoCon 2018, Digital Extremes revealed two massive updates for Warframe that are coming down the pipeline. The soonest will add Venus as an open-world and add incredibly badass hoverboards. Hit the jump...
At the Warframe convention, TennoCon 2018, Digital Extremes unveiled the "Fortuna" update which will allow players to explore the open-world of Venus, finally engage in combat with other ships, and do awesome tricks on hoverboards!
Here's a 30-minute demo of the upcoming add-on content:
Firstly we'll go over Venus. The studio explained that the Venusian landscape houses a ton of new and unique gameplay experiences as well as a brand new faction and genuinely interesting lore additions. The surface of Venus is coated with "Orokin" buildings and exotic flora. And what's more, you can traverse the Venus landscape atop newly introduced and incredibley badass hoverboards.
A seperate update, set to arrive at some point following Fortune, "Codename: Railjack" will introduce ship-on-ship combat. Players will have to co-ordinate their actions, like iconic space-crews of the Enterprise of Millenium Falcon, to properly take on enemy vessels - as in whilst one player will helm the gunner position another will be in-charge of piloting.
Last year's addition to Warframe, the Plains of Eidolon, was truly revolutionary in terms of add-on content - many believing that it would be impossible to top, but Digital Extremes are clearly putting their all into doing so, we'll just have to see whether they pull it off.
What do you think about Warframe's upcoming add-on content? Are you excited to explore the surface of Venus by hoverboard?
