Here is legendary's tweet that revealed the release date of Warcraft.
Since it couldn't compete with Star Wars (great move by everyone involved) they initially pushed it to March, 2016 and now June 10th, 2016. The actual filming of the movie is finished. Now Industrial Light & Magic (known for their work in Star Wars) will finish the movie. Here are 3 reasons why this is a good thing.
1. There isn't a strong track record of successful video game movies. Blizzard and Legendary should take all the time in the world to make the movie extremely polished. They see that there really hasn't been a video game movie that has been good. If done right, video game movies could compete with comic book movies, but it really has to impress.
2. A March release isn't exactly prime time for watching movies. By pushing it out a few months might mean that they actually have a really good movie that both Legendary and Blizzard are proud of.
3. The Orcs will be played by real people and won't be CGI. The more details Industrial Light & Magic can put into them (and other aspects of the movie) the better. This is something fans have been dreaming of for a long long time now. If they can capture the essence of strong lore of the Original games (The RTS games) people who haven't even heard of Warcraft will go and see it.
Note: If they dare put a damn panda in any of the Warcraft movies... they've failed us all!
