Digital Extremes recently revealed that they're "exploring options" for the exciting prospect of Warframe crossplay.

At the moment, Digital Extreme's free-to-play cooperative third-person action shooter, Warframe unfortunately doesn't have any form of crossplay.

This is due to many reasons, such as; The PC version of Warframe receives updates before the console versions, Sony are against forming a crossplay deal with Microsoft - though with the recent release of the game on the Nintendo Switch, it seems things are about the change.

Here's what Digital Extremes Studio Manager Sheldon Carter had to tell Tech Radar:

Since announcing Warframe coming to the Switch, we’ve received an incredible amount of positive reception from both our community and Nintendo players. We’re exploring all options for people to play on and with the Nintendo Switch.

Carter also revealed that they're looking into allowing you to share your Warframe account across platforms - meaning that if you already have playtime dedicated to Warframe on your PS4, Xbox One, or PC, you can transfer over all of your data.

What do you think about the possibility of Warframe crossplay?
